ResponsibilitiesPurpose & Summary: The National Land Team is responsible for 1) monitoring compliance with company policies as it relates to land acquisitions and dispositions, archiving required approval documents and reports, and maintaining and organizing our network files; 2) preparing, validating, and reviewing all weekly, monthly, quarterly and Ad‐hoc reports; 3) managing and maintaining Smartsheet users and reports; 4) support Land Committee related business; 5) participate in various land team related calls; 6) support and assist in our off‐balance sheet financing efforts; 7) support and assist in management and tracking of our land and lot dispositions.
1) Policy Compliance and Record Archiving
- Archive “Corporate Approval Packages” (Network and Meritage Content Management (MCM))
- Archive Land Committee, Executive Chairman and Board deal approvals (Network & MCM)
- Archive other deal submittal reports and files (Pre‐Close Memo, Pre‐Model Memo, etc.)
- Manage and maintain network files and keep all reports and files organized.
- Maintain a working knowledge of land policies, land playbook, and other related policies.
2) Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Ad‐Hoc Reporting
- Prepare, review, validate, and publish weekly reports.
- Prepare, review, validate, and publish monthly reports.
- Prepare, review, validate, and publish quarterly reports.
- Prepare, review, validate, and publish ad‐hoc reports.
3) Smartsheet Administration for Divisions, Regions and Corporate Teams
- Manage and maintain user access to system and reports.
- Create, manage, and maintain report templates.
- Assist division end users with access, reports, and questions.
4) Land Committee Meeting Scheduling, Agendas, Results and Meeting Minutes
- Coordinate and Schedule Land Committee meetings.
- Prepare and publish weekly Land Committee Meeting agenda reports.
- Prepare and publish weekly Land Committee Materials emails (pipeline reports, etc.)
- Prepare and publish weekly Land Committee Presentation Order emails.
- Prepare and publish weekly Land Committee Results emails.
- Prepare and publish Land Committee Meeting Minutes documents.
5) Active Participation in Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly Meetings & Calls
- Monthly Division Land team calls
- Monthly National Land team Power Hour calls
- Land Committee Meetings
- Quarterly Public Homebuilder Earnings calls
- Quarterly Land Banking Update calls
6) Off‐Balance Sheet Financing
- Prepare and Manage Off Balance Sheet Deal Pipeline reports.
- Coordinate with division to prepare and publish land banking deal information and reports.
- Prepare Capital Asset Packages for distribution to off‐balance sheet partners for deal consideration.
- Review, analyze and provide feedback on complex financial models.
- Archive documents related to our off‐balance sheet financing deals.
7) Land & Lot Dispositions
- Prepare and Manage Land & Lot Disposition Tracker Reports
- Coordinate with division to prepare and publish disposition information and reports.
- Review, analyze and provide feedback on complex financial models.
- Archive documents related to our disposition efforts.
Qualifications- BA in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Minimum of 5 years of Finance/Accounting experience.
- Homebuilding industry experience preferred.
- Advanced computer skills and high‐level Excel user.
- Ability to multi‐task to meet overlapping reporting due date requirements.
- Ability to work independently without high‐level of supervision.
- Ability to initiate self‐learning of policies, processes, procedures, and reports.
- Ability to think critically and expand understanding beyond numbers on a page.
