JOB SUMMARY:
This position is primarily responsible for locating, researching, and purchasing land for acquisition.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Find land opportunities in respective division/area
- Oversee land mapping
- Negotiate and contract land acquisitions
- Interface in the due diligence and entitlement process, as necessary
- Coordinates contractors involved in the development of the land parcel, as necessary.
- Coordinate public and municipal entitlement land process, as necessary.

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
With Direct Reports
- Ensures appropriate staffing to meet department needs
- Utilizes recruiting and selection tools/processes to build organizational talent
- Delegates work according to employee’s abilities and skills
- Evaluates employee’s performance and plans for compensation actions in accordance with that performance
- Provides developmental opportunities through the identification of internal and external training opportunities
- Creates opportunities for employee growth
- Provides continuous coaching regarding functional and leadership standards (technical skills and behaviors)
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Minimum Bachelors Degree in Business or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License because driving is an essential function of this position.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of previous related experience
- Strong negotiation and contract skills
- Requires knowledge of market trends, pricing, and growth & supply
- Knowledge of the political environment and the ability to form political connections
- Ability to strategically implement the company’s goals by acquiring the necessary land to meet the strategic objectives
- Understanding finance and law is essential
COMPENSATION RANGE
- $166,500 - $216,500 per year
- Hired applicant with be eligible to receive bonuses
BENEFITS:
Employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Plan. Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage. Employees are covered by company-paid disability and basic life insurance. Voluntary insurance coverage options, including critical illness and hospital indemnity, are also available. In addition, the Company offers an Employee Assistance Program and tuition reimbursement (as applicable). In addition to up to 9 paid company holidays per year, employees with less than 10 years of service are eligible for up to 23 paid days off and employees with 10 or more years of service are eligible for up to 28 paid days off. Note that all Sales Consultants, except those in CA, are not eligible for paid time off, but receive the equivalent days in unpaid time off and 8 paid sales holidays. Employees should consult with their local Human Resources Representative to discuss the composition of their available time off, which may differ based on work location and paid sick time eligibility.
