DHI Communities is a multifamily development division of D.R. Horton, Inc.
DHI Communities is currently looking for a
Multifamily-Paralegal. The right candidate will provide support to the Multifamily and Build-to-Rent acquisition, development, and disposition operations by undertaking typical paralegal tasks and through interaction with executive leadership, in-house legal counsel, and regional operations personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Request and review title and survey for acquisition and disposition activity
- Review draft purchase and sale contracts from outside legal counsel
- Manage due diligence process and checklist updates
- Prepare and submit land acquisition packages for corporate review and approval
- Prepare and submit Notice of Suitability (NOS) packages for corporate review and approval
- Prepare and update weekly contract status report
- Perform file management
- Support Development personnel in project management activities
- Organize and maintain correspondence
- Maintain seller/broker/owner contact files
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual acquisition/disposition reports
- Manage archives and file storage
- Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
- Ability to work overtime
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- Two years of paralegal or related experience required
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
- Proficiency with MS Office and email
- Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision
- The noise level is generally moderate
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in commercial real estate transactions preferred
