JOB SUMMARY:
Primary responsibility for conducting in-process quality control audits and monitoring of underwritten loans to assure adherence to company, investor, agency, and federal underwriting guidelines. Assess the soundness of previous decisions and prepare report of findings in a thorough and timely manner.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (in order of importance):
Conduct monitoring of loans underwritten to determine compliance with company, investor, agency underwriting guidelines and federal requirements per the Quality Control Plan guidance.
Document findings and trends for reporting purposes.
Communicate coaching and training opportunities discovered to Underwriters and Underwriting Managers.
Research guidelines to determine applicability to audit findings.
Review documentation in loan files to validate quality for asset, income, and gift documentation.
Review AUS findings in comparison to loan conditions or in-file documentation to ensure compliance with program guidelines.
Determine, establish, and review documentation for re-verification of income, employment, asset, and occupancy.
Train outsourced personnel to complete these job responsibilities.
Special projects as assigned.
Meet weekly production requirements as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 3 years previous related experience, with a thorough understanding of conventional and government underwriting guidelines
Time in position: Prefer 3 years at an underwriting level
Knowledge of mortgage underwriting for government and conventional loan products, including appraisal requirements.
Knowledge of underwriting with automated underwriting systems and manual underwriting guidelines.
